In October 2014 a group of friends in Northeast Pennsylvania got together with an old camcorder and made 2 short zombie movies that were campy, funny, and gross – the main motivation here was to show friends, family, and co-workers for laughs.
Despite technical shortcomings in these first two short films, the finished products got many laughs and spawned lots of inside jokes – the exact type of encouragement we needed to press forward.
In the years since then we have upgraded our technical capability quite a bit. Each new project that we take on pushes on the limits of what we can do and keeps us progressing in every aspect of film making.
Our Creative Team is made up of different people with different cinematic tastes and the blending of those tastes through collaboration is part of what keeps our projects feeling fresh and unpredictable.
Tales From The World of No Budget Film Making
In The Woods Entertainment was started with an old Handycam (most phones record better quality today) and a silly idea. That’s it. We had a volunteer cast and crew made up entirely of friends who had off from work the day we were filming. Our make-up was done with toilet paper, glue, and basic face paint. Our story is proof that determination and imagination are the key ingredients in making movies. Want to get involved? Read about how to join our team here.
